I went over 6,000 posts earlier today. I know that's no big deal to many of you but it was a milestone for me...

I've been a member since 2012 but I'm more of a lurker and reader than a poster...I do get a lot from DU so thank you all....

There are some ways to increase a post count, but those with a longer time here and relatively low post counts for that time [not that 6,000 is chump change, mind you!!!!] are generally the ones who don't post unless they have something significant to say. Those are the people that *I* learn the most from.

Congratulations!

But as I was composing the reply, I saw that you already passed the 6000 mark.

HEY! I was there, too.

It's a big deal.

I just relay a lot of pithy stuff I find on Hacker News that seems relevant.

Keep up the good work!

I had to look it up but 6,000 is in Roman numerals VI with a line called a Vinculum above it...V̅I̅. The directions for creating this on a keyboard were too much for my elder brain so I just cut and pasted...

I've been around since 2015 and I only recently went over 7K posts. I spent a lot of time reading others without offering my opinion.

During President Obama's time in office, I didn't see the need to be more involved.
With the advent of Trump (since I used to work in NYC in the 80's) I knew before most what a fucking train wreck this asshole was.

That lit a fire under me to get more involved here on DU.
The arrival of a fascist dictatorship here in America hopefully causes A LOT of us to fight and get more involved.

So don't downplay your engagemnt here; we need all of our voices working in tandem to defeat the Reich.

CONGRATULATIONS ON 6,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It IS a big deal for all of us, my friend.

Glad you’re here!!!

If DU is good, it’s because of all the members and posts and commentaries here.

I’ve said this before but don’t mind repeating it about this place: learn something new every day!
