Do most Americans understand that the Republican party's redistricting is a nakedky partisan move aimed at cheating?

Will it have any effect on independent voters in November?

It reminds me if McConnell stealing a Supreme Court seat from President Obama, then changing the rules for Trump to rush Amy Coney Barrett onto the court. Many people thought it was bogus, but it didn't change their votes.

they are above the political fray, and are "independents." to buy the both sides bullshit.

WE KNOW, yes, in years long past, Ds gerrymandered some blue states.

We also know, the Ds have called for fairly drawn congressional maps for the last few decades and tried to call a truce on it, so to speak, when Joe was president and put a bill forward to establish this - every D voted for it, and every R voted against it.

Things settled down a bit between the ten year map reviews, but of course DTJ had to open the can of worms up by prodding his idiot boot lickers in charge of Red states to force gerrymandering in advance of these mid terms.

But, all it takes is a few of their breathless screeds on Faux and FB and X memes showing some states that have no R congressmen and poof, the cherished "middle" voters pass all of this off as "both sides."

The Rs point that out, and there you go.

Honestly, neither party is above this, and I think average Americans are sick of it. We point to the Midwest as evidence of extreme gerrymandering, and they point to New England.

Trust in government is at an all time low, having been in a steady decline since right after Clinton.

“Just 17% of Americans now say they trust the government in Washington to do what is right “just about always” (2%) or “most of the time” (15%).
While trust in government has been low for decades, the current measure is one of the lowest in the nearly seven decades since the question was first asked by the National Election Study, and it is lower than it was last year (22%).”

Over the last few decades the majority of congressional seats have been gerrymandered to favor Republicans. Typically, the only threat to a Republican incumbent's' re-election in "safe" seats arises from the most extreme ideological wing of their own party. These extremist primary challengers no longer represent the interests of mainstream Republican voters in the district, they are usually backed by corporate money coming from the outside, and once elected answer only to them.

35% believe every utterance coming from Agent Orange (Herr Agolf Twittler). The deliberate dumbing down that started in 1968 is paying dividends for the Party that appeals to the poorly educated.

Then having Fascists as heads of all government departments that remain open for business and have not yet been gutted or shut down.

Their goal,...
Fascism reigns,..
Democracy rapidly wanes,...
And the blue collar and now white collar workers are intentionally and incessantly run over by the oligarchs dangerously speeding buses. Hit and run style of driving,.. leave for dead by the side of the road. This comprises the Fascists barbaric method of political traffic control. Dead bodies decomposing and rotting everywhere in the gutters and gullies of our national roadways. Only then, when this horrific scenario comes to pass,... will the Nazis be content and happy.

Killing off the lower and middle classes, by ever so slowly dwindling them down, is ultimately the end game. Locked up, disappeared, and among the missing citizens do not vote. What a wonderful next stage idea for fool proof voter disenfranchisement and voter suppression.

Stealing elections are so messy and dicey. Robbing one of their right to vote or even entering the ballot precinct to cast their vote - causes the hammer to hit the nail top dead center and drive the idea of voter disenfranchisement/suppression all the way home.
