(12,475 posts)The counselor's daughter had died that year and she was having a hard time and admitted she wasn't up to par.
The drunk teacher, it seems, was having severe personal problems but was considered a good and kind teacher.
She was hitting rock bottom apparently.
The school stated she was having a medical issue.
As for her scholarship information there are mixed reviews. Many people said it is up to the student to research and
chase down the scholarship, while others stated that some schools have offices to guide them. I couldn't find anything about
whether that school had one or not or I simply missed it.
Some felt the student was flexing privilege while others felt she was addressing her experience.
The student did thank a host of people that didn't make it into the news reports or video, I guess.

(1,028 posts)I got a kick out of the class valedictorian saying to the counselor,
thank you for being unavailable to my parents and I.
For anyone who isnt sure which to use, me or I, say it about yourself alone: Thank you for being unavailable to me.
Grammar, cursive, reading, and education as a whole all seem to be dying.
