PA-01: Shapiro Endorses Harvie
Bob Harvie’s campaign for the 1st Congressional District received a big boost on Sunday as Gov. Josh Shapiro formally endorsed the Bucks County Commissioner.
The governor had already publicly backed the campaigns of Bob Brooks in PA-07, Paige Cognetti in PA-08, and Janelle Stelson in PA-10 as Democrats look to win back the majority in the U.S. House. His endorsement comes a week before Harvie and Lucia Simonelli meet in the Democratic primary.
“Bob Harvie is a public servant who has dedicated his career to serving his community – from teaching our kids to delivering for working families all across Bucks County,” said Shapiro. “I’ve worked with Bob to get stuff done for Bucks County – from investing in our schools and law enforcement, to creating jobs and economic opportunity. I know Bob’s first vote in Congress will be for a Democrat to serve as Speaker of the House and to advance a legislative agenda that helps Pennsylvania and stands up against the chaos, cruelty, and corruption of Donald Trump. I’m proud to endorse Bob in this race, and I know he will be a partner in continuing to deliver for Pennsylvania families in Congress.”
Harvie is attempting to unseat five-term Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in the purple district. Shapiro won the district by 20 points in 2022 and former Vice President Kamala Harris won by 0.3% in 2024.
