1. I don't get this pigeon-holing

Even assuming that Pew has dotted all their i's and crossed all their t's -and they very likely have- it is still just a snapshot. The electorate is a moving picture at all times. (See 9/11) None of us have any solid evidence that things won't change drastically tomorrow, next month, at the mid-terms, or the next Presidential election.
