Consider elections as rather like public auctions

because, money is THE THING that gets the campaign messages (honest, and deceitful) to the ears of voters.

Imagine you went to an auction of things you were interested, say, rare books, art etc. How would you feel if you KNEW there was a BEZOS or MUsk sitting there with their millions capable of denying your attempts to get anything you wanted?

You'd feel out-monied. You'd feel that you had absolutely no chance to bid for the best stuff up for auction.

And in an election, the best stuff is a WIN for the candidate of your choice.

NOw that's a sore point for me. The Rich always can pay more, so no one can out bid them in ANYTHING and everything.

We need tax reform that prevents "take-over everything amounts of money" in every aspect of society.

How do honest people participate in the economy, politics and society when everything of value will be purchased by over-bidding wealth?
