Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHow many videos have you seen of the damage done in Iran by US bombs?
I have seen bomb flashes from a long distance but wouldn't Iranians want the world to see the damage that is being done by Donald Trump in his war?
Perhaps they are out there and I just haven't seen them.
First rule: Don't believe anything Trump tells you.
If Iran's navy was at the bottom of the sea and all their military destroyed, how would they be able to resist at all?
Are we all subjects of a gigantic fake propaganda campaign?
And why does Trump keep calling the Iranians "dishonest"?

(20,964 posts)The BBC even had a frame capture just before impact that clearly showed it was a Tomahawk. Then we saw some images of the aftermath. Im with you though. I think the actual damage inflicted by Iran on US forces in all phases has been mostly concealed. I also think the school incident was almost certainly not the only war crime that has been committed by these cretins that wont see the light of day anytime soon if ever.

(39,290 posts)I guess that's possible but seems highly unlikely.
Trump call Iranians dishonest because they probably are. He's dishonest at the core of his being so like recognizes like.
Or he could just be dishonest about their dishonesty. It's happened before. Lots.

(14,323 posts)...from the IRGC and the volunteer Basij.
Decimating the traditional national and naval defense forces did not, and could not, "win" this war.
Back in March, I posted about the magnitude of the IRGC/Basij military, industrial, economic conglomerate.

To answer the question "how would they be able to resist at all?"
The IRGC and Basij have something like 40,000 bases scattered in a population of over 90 million (more than California, Texas, and Florida combined).
They have mobile launchers that are difficult to target. They have cheap drones (and are getting more). They have guys on small boats and jet skis. It is NOT a conventional army or navy, but collectively, they are able continue to do damage to neighbors and threaten tankers and container ships in the strait.
This is a criminal war and the felon starting it is perhaps the most insane mistake in history, but just think. If he had remained partners with Ukraine in the largest land war in Europe since WWII -- a war that has changed the face of modern warfare -- we would have been at the cutting edge too. But no, Hegseth was too busy making the U.S. Military more macho to think about actually modernizing to do a better job of dealing with the threat of asymmetric warfare.

At least that's what I suspect.
Pride, fear and fear of humiliation.
