MO-01: Sanders endorsing Cori Bush comeback bid
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on Tuesday endorsed former Rep. Cori Bush (D-Mo.) as she seeks to reclaim her seat won by Rep. Wesley Ball (D-Mo.) last year.
“Cori will take on AIPAC and other billionaire-backed special interests,” Sanders wrote on the social platform X, referring to the American Israeli Public Action Committee. “She will help transform our economy and government into one that works for all not just the powerful and well-connected. That’s why I’m proud to endorse Cori once again to represent Missouri’s 1st District.”
Bush wrote on X that she was “honored to be endorsed once again by Senator Bernie Sanders as I run to return to Congress to keep fighting for St. Louis’ families.”
“I’m so thankful to have Bernie by my side once again,” she wrote in a separate post. “Over the years, Bernie’s always supported our movement to deliver for the people of [St. Louis, Mo.]. After Aug. 4, I’ll return to Congress and we’ll continue our work to transform our country into one that works for all of us, not just the powerful and well-connected.”
