Remington loses $3 million in Alabama incentivesPosted Mar 20, 2019

Remington Arms has failed to meet hiring and payroll targets at its Huntsville plant, costing the beleaguered gunmaker $3 million in incentives from the state of Alabama.
Alabama Secretary of Commerce Greg Canfield, in an email Tuesday to AL.com, spelled out the canceling of the final $3 million cash incentive payment to Remington.
Its the latest turn for the company that is still obligated to hire almost 2,000 workers in Huntsville by 2023. But last year, the company filed for bankruptcy and the city of Huntsville restructured its incentive package with Remington in an effort to allow it to recover from that bankruptcy.
And earlier this month, a report from New York said that Remington was planning layoffs at three locations, including Huntsville. A Remington spokesman declined to comment on the possibility of cutting jobs.

All semi automatic firearms that accept removable magazines should be banned along with the manufacture, transfer or possession of same.

Stuffing the firearm genie back in the bottle is going to be quite a job. I think the tide has turned and it's only a matter of time, but it's going to be ugly. I'll be moving to Dublin (most likely) later this year and watching with interest.

(28,834 posts)I'm not even joking. The gun-grabbers argument works so much better with the rubes when a Democrat is in office. Kind of hard to motivate people to irrationally rush out and buy more guns when you don't have an obvious target to point to, pun intended.
