Trump's approval ratings sink in key battleground states, but not in Alabama
Alabama still has love for President Donald Trump, but slightly less than the state did when he took office, and Trump is underwater in most key battleground states ahead of his 2020 re-election bid.
Alabama leads the nation in support of Trump, with a 61 percent approval rating. Thats down 10 percentage points from the time he took office until July 1, according to the most recent poll from Morning Consult, a Washington D.C.-based polling firm.
The company surveyed of more than 2 million people from January 20, 2017 to July 31, 2019 to determine Trumps monthly approval ratings in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.. The polls margin of error among those surveyed in Alabama is 2 percent.
In many of the 12 key battleground states, however, Trumps approval ratings for July are in the negative.
New Hampshire 40 percent approval, 57 percent disapproval
Wisconsin 41 percent approval, 55 percent disapproval
Michigan 42 percent approval, 54 percent disapproval
Iowa 43 percent approval, 54 percent disapproval
Nevada 43 percent approval, 54 percent disapproval
Pennsylvania 45 percent approval, 54 percent disapproval
Arizona 45 percent approval, 52 percent disapproval
Ohio 45 percent approval, 51 percent disapproval
North Carolina 48 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval
Florida 48 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval
Georgia 49 percent approval, 47 percent disapproval
Texas 51 percent approval, 49 percent disapproval
