Postcards to Swing States still needs help to reach their goal. Please consider writing a few if you can! I'm almost to my goal of 800 to Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, & Wisconsin. (200 per state)

(38,087 posts)Did you know that people will read something handwritten where some 4-color glossy piece gets thrown in the trash.
Even if its a magazine or newspaper ad and the designer adds a handwritten element, it increases readership by 35%.
I learned this when I was an ad manager for places like McDonalds, Chrysler, and General Mills.
I signed up for wherever its needed the most.

(4 posts)Hello,
I have been writing through an organization called Vote Forward and also Swing Left, we write to registered voters who are democratic leaning who don't always vote to encourage them to vote. For me it is very satisfying as I feel i am doing SOMETHING... I pay for stamps and envelopes and printer ink... it is better to me to do that then send money to some political campaign ... look into your hood and see what is available to you... I have written letters to reservations in Nevada, many swing states like the Carolinas, Nevada, etc... a local CA district that has a congress seat to swing, etc... it is very worthwhile and I am glad to have done it for some years now...

(2,140 posts)Handwriting for any length of time makes me twitchy. Can you tell me anything about the length of the messages, or if they would mind if you ran the postcards through a printer for the messages and then hand sign and hand address them? I would have asked them, but I couldn't find any way on the website to just ask a question. Thanks.

(747 posts)First time posting in this forum. Thanks to all of you sending postcards and any other voter activism you may do. My son and I are wanting to send postcards. He found this link https://www.mobilize.us/ptp/?tag_ids=173. Neither of us would find it easy to canvas, or talk on the phone, so he did some research and came up with this. After the events of the last few days, and the totally crap SCOTUS decisions, I have to do something or go out of my mind. I want to support my son's choice if I can. So, if this is the same group or you, Dulcinea, or someone else here knows about the Progressive Turnout Project, could you give me some input? It seems this group's target group is Dems that haven't been exercising the voting right on a consistent basis. And Dulcinea, thank you for the 800 goal you set! You rock!
