Blue25. A spending boycott. Rep. John Lewis, "get in good trouble."

If they're coming for our S.S. to in flick pain, we can do the same. they can't force you to spend money.
Before people dog pile on me saying it will hurt to many people, let me say we ALL are going to feel the pain any way, might as well fight back.
Our votes and consumer dollars are our weapons. Votes can only be used every 2-4 years, consumer dollars (our most powerful weapon) can be used 24/7-365. If the repugs can get big results with a Bud Light and Harley Davidson boycott, we can get big results too.

74, 485,127 Dems & Libs voted in the last election. If we could cut $25.00± a week from our spending, times 4-weeks a month, times 12-months, that's a big ass chunk of change not going into the pocket of the orange economy. They will notice that and start to whine.
Pros.
1.) Much more effective than an in the street protest, they can't take your picture, arrest/detain you or shoot you.
2.) Spending boycott can be done from the comfort and safety of home.
3.) If you're not spending, you're saving. Put the money you don't spend away for emergency.
4.) If they want to offset our lack of spending they will have to spend $25.00 more of their money to make up for it. Make the fascist voters shoulder the burden of their orange economy. It's their hate that is bringing it to us.

This is easy and doable. And every time they whine we raise the amount up $5.00. Make them whine more.

(74, 485,127 voters)($25.00)= $1,862,128,175 per week., $7,448,512,700 per month. This is just an example, not everyone can cut $25.00 a week, I'm thinking most can cut $10.00-$15.00.

I want to call the boycott Blue25. Let's try and keep this strategy to ourselves (dems & Libs ) only.
Thanks for listening.

....if we make sure the oligarchs KNOW we are making these huge fluctuations in their financial structures on purpose, they will then know thet we understand the power we DO have over them.

I have a suggestion for something to avoid spending on: junk food. The side effect benefit will be better health.

I would also like to have a list of companies, CEOs, or products that are particularly strong supporters of the R fascist movement. I have some ideas, but would rather have a longer list that is pretty well documented.

From what I know of economics (a modest amount), any general reduction in spending by a large number of people will have an effect.

Also, for now at least, my wife and I could afford to adopt a family that would be unable to reduce spending by $25 a month, or even $15.

I think we need an established organization to help make this happen. Move On comes to mind. But, I'm not very aware of the many organizations that are out there.

This is the type of movement that absolutely needs to happen. It might be wise to get the advice of some economists on how best to do it.

They are offered by private insurance companies who then get a fixed amount of money from the Medicare Trust Fund. Of course this is relevant for persons 65+. They contribute to the profit of private insurance companies.

A boycott of Amazon could be a big win. The goal is to make the fascist voter prop up the economy.

I'm disabled and cannot lift a bulk order of catfood up my stairs, but my UPS/Mailguy knows this and carries it for me.

I'm using cat food as an example.

I also live in a VERY rural /tourist area so my prices at stores locally is insane as well as gas. I don't know how to boycott effectively?

I am all for this idea, but I need some advice on the details of implementation for sure.

Your moral support is appreciated.
I think boycotting effectively is the same as being a smart savvy shopper with your consumer dollar.
As far a using Amazon goes, many manufactures and companies sell and ship direct and no need for Amazon. Yes they have some crazy deals but, those deals come at a price. (why do I have to fill out a membership to get the hot smoking deal?) Also try shopping small business over the corporate ones unless they lean to the left.
Remember a dollar not in the pocket of the fascist, is a dollar in your pocket.
Be well.

mentioned an app called GUU (Goods Unite Us) that shows companies' political donations. Haven't checked it out yet but it sounds like it could help with ensuring we don't support companies supporting the fascists.

Spending boycotts do not require you to close any accounts. The only requirement is that we at least try before giving up and saying it won't work. If you're not spending, you're saving, even if it's $5.00. $25.00 a week is a week of Starbucks for some, that's why I picked it.
This boycott is to meant to be an easy, convenient and safe way to protest.

But it might be a good idea to keep some cash around. In case the ATMs and the bank close. You'll be fine.

I downloaded the app Goods Unite Us. It lists products and companies that donate to Republicans. For companies that donate to both parties, it has a graphic which shows how much goes to each.
I also cancelled subscriptions for grocery delivery and products from Amazon. My Prime membership ends in May and I won't be renewing.
Jeff Bezos can eff off!
I will be spending as little as possible over the next 4 years. Going to try and stick to necessities and avoid discretionary spending. My house is old and needs repairs, so I can't avoid it completely. But I will do the best I can to hurt the greedy f'ers that bought this election.
I'm happy to let MAGATS pick up the tab because THEY VOTED for this.
And, because I don't trust them to snatch away my Social Security and Medicare, and probably screw with my tiny pension, I will be saving every fraction of a cent that I can.

I'm in total agreement. Sure, it's impossible to comply 100% but do what you can. If, enough of us join the movement it will be noticed. I shop at an employee owned market and try my best not to buy Koch industry products. I've used Amazon twice in the last year. Do what you can, where you can.
