Moose wanders into Alaska hospital building

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A moose wandered into a hospital building in Alaska's largest city Monday — and Stephanie Hupton was ready to capture the visit with her phone camera.

Hupton works in billing at a physical therapy office inside a building attached to Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage. When a patient mentioned security staffers were monitoring a moose that got inside her building, she dashed out and started recording.

"Didn't think we'd have a pet moose," she said.

The footage shows the moose browsing around some greenery near an entrance before it stands gazing at the camera's direction. It briefly lingers before sauntering out through an open door.

A moose wandered into an Anchorage, Alaska hospital, ate some plants and exited using a motion-activated door that was stuck open because of the cold. A woman who works inside a medical office captured the visit on video. (Jan. 8)

He or she wasn't too impressed with the indoor greens as a quick nosh:

From adn.com: The four-legged visitor didn’t seem to have much of a taste for the atrium’s selection of greenery, which includes dracaenas, palms, spathiphyllum, aglaonemas, lilyturf and a ficus tree — basically, plants more commonly found in places like Florida or Hawaii, said Monica Emerton, who owns the company that maintains the atrium. All the plants are relatively low toxicity for people and pets, though not specifically moose.

The moose ate “not much” of any plants, Emerton said. “She was just tasting, apparently."

Are moose not overly afraid of humans?
