COVID Map Update Reveals New States With 'Very High' Wastewater Activity

There are an increasing number of states across the U.S. where "very high" levels of the virus that causes COVID-19 are present in wastewater.

According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Idaho, New Mexico and South Dakota all had "very high" levels of the SARS-CoV-2 virus in their wastewater during the week between November 17 and November 23, 2024. The week prior, between November 10 and November 16, only New Mexico's wastewater had this level of the virus present.

Arizona, Arkansas, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts and New Hampshire currently have "high" levels of COVID-19, while "moderate" levels were detected in Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah and Wyoming.



Nineteen states had "low" levels, while 14 states and D.C. had "minimal" levels of the SARS-CoV-2 virus present in wastewater.

8. we never stopped masking

While the #s are below the absolute peak they are still very high and in most respects the pandemic in fact is still ongoing.

Sadly, most people don't realize this and are neither masking nor getting boosters, let alone social distancing...

9. Well, I'm not really social distancing any more, but I never stopped wearing a mask once I leave...

my apt. I avoid crowds though I might be in some outside for a bit during the Holidays which in that case I will keep my mask on.
I do take my mask off in general outside.

So far so good. And, yes, I've gotten every booster.

10. The Pandemic is over. Covid is ENDEMIC.

I realize just how endemic Covid is, so that's why I get updated vaccines at every opportunity. In fact, I got a double vaccine in October: flu and Covid. It's the way things are now.

So, mask away; I won't be joining you. Unless I'm on a plane w/ my wife and she makes me. Or if I catch Covid and I need to protect others.
