GOP wants 'mandatory training' of government workers to follow Trump's agenda: report

Source: raw story

Tom Boggioni December 8, 2024 9:43AM ET

In a deep dive by the Washington Post on the drastic measures government workers are undergoing to protect their jobs, or the possibility of legal harassment from president-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration, Republicans are also making plans to make them fall in line with the president-elect's agenda.

Speaking with the Post, Jesus Soriano, president of the American Federation of Government Employees Local 3403, admitted, "There is shock and there is actual fear, and there is self censure in the sense that people are scared about retaliation."

The report adds that Trump's allies in Congress also want to get in on clamping down on civil servants............................

I worry about the coworkers and friends I left behind. Since they're DoD civil service, I figure they'll be catching it two ways... Rump and military. I didn't want to retire when I did, I thought it was stupid... But now I'm actually glad I'm not there any longer. I went thru the stress of couple of rifs and that was bad enough. Having to self censor would be so hard for me... I've always been outspoken. Constant worry about staying employed would just be too much.

This is real hand-holding for adult minds. This is very very sick and twisted. We do not treat free people like this. This is religion without clergy and churches.

As long as they're the right sect of chaplain. As it stands when the WH or other PTB screwed up, training would be announced based on how they screwed up. Of course they were too busy and important to go, but was mandatory for we peons.

I'm approaching retirement. I've had several jobs with the government, including active duty military. This last job takes the cake. I will never work for the feds ever again. I'm not sure what more Trump can put on our plates when it comes to training. I have a thankless job that is essential. We are constantly training. We are constantly surveilled. We are understaffed and new hires just quit because of the stress and difficulty Of the job. The pay is mediocre compared to the private sector. I say bring it on repubs. You will push us into retirement. You won't replace us. It takes years to become proficient. Fuck around and see what happens. And when I say essential, I'm not kidding around.

Bondi has also lobbied for the GEO Group, a major private prison company that is paid hundreds of millions of dollars each year by the federal government, according to federal records. The Justice Department is a major customer.

will the taxpayers be paying for this escapade?

FOIA the offices to see what "education" they are doing. And while we're at it, might as well figure out who's getting paid to put these "trainings" together.

Been to many mandatory training sessions. Few attendees take them seriously. Willing to bet some employees will accuse hated or awful bosses of being "disloyal" and some bosses will use the same excuse to finally rid themselves of the employees everyone including co-workers know can't or aren't doing the job and for whom they have to cover the work that isn't being done by said employee.
