Kimberly Guilfoyle picked by Trump to be ambassador to Greece

Source: politico

The former Fox News host was engaged to the president-elect’s son, but their relationship status is unclear.

Eric Bazail-Eimil 12/10/2024, 6:57pm ET

Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former Court TV anchor and Fox News host who became a staunch advocate for Donald Trump, has been chosen by him to be the next U.S. ambassador to Greece.

Trump announced the decision Tuesday in a social media post, calling her a “close friend and ally” who “is perfectly suited to foster strong bilateral relations with Greece.”

Guilfoyle was engaged to Donald Trump Jr., the president’s eldest child, but newspapers have recently published photos suggesting that he is now romantically involved with socialite Bettina Anderson.

Neither Trump Jr. nor Guilfoyle has publicly announced a split, and their relationship status is unclear.

Donnie Dumbass Jr. can’t just dump her - she knows too much. Not just about him, but about Daddy, too. And opportunist/climber that she is, she’d use whatever leverage she has to come out of this with something.

People opining about how humiliating this must be for her don’t get it: she’s long past being able to feel anything approaching shame. Her coked-up performance at the 2020 virtual Rep. convention is all the proof anyone should need.

Sort of a divorce with no alimony plan.

Let's see, Kari Lake to Mexico. Kimberly Guilfoyle to Greece. Trump likes them 'a little on the young side' so which other nuisance females in his circle have aged out and will be heading abroad?

his "job" as Ambassador for International Religious Freedom. That dumbshit was never seen again much to the delight of all of us in Kansas. As Governor he went further than Trump (for now) and gave Corporations a ZERO % tax rate in Kansas.

He almost bankrupted the State of Kansas in 4-5 years.

59. Why Trump's new announcement about Kimberly Guilfoyle matters
Wed Dec 11, 2024, 03:31 PM

For Trump, the former Fox News personality checks two boxes: She's both a television personality and someone with direct ties to his immediate family.

https://www.msnbc.com/rachel-maddow-show/maddowblog/trumps-new-announcement-kimberly-guilfoyle-matters-rcna183733

Once in a great while, however, the Republican president-elect is able to find someone who manages to check more than one box. NBC News reported:

President-elect Donald Trump said Tuesday that he would nominate former Fox News personality Kimberly Guilfoyle and his longtime billionaire friend Tom Barrack to be ambassadors to Greece and Turkey, respectively. ... In a separate post announcing his selection of her for ambassador to Greece, Trump referred to Guilfoyle, who announced in 2022 that she was engaged to his son Donald Trump Jr., as a yearslong ‘close friend and ally.’

I’m mindful of the latest reporting suggesting that Guilfoyle might no longer be engaged to the president-elect’s oldest son, but I neither know nor care about their personal lives.

What I do care about is the frequency with which Trump chooses people of dubious qualifications for prominent governmental posts based on their closeness to members of his family. The growing list now includes:

Charles Kushner, Ivanka Trump’s father-in-law, whom the president-elect intends to nominate as the next U.S. ambassador to France.
Massad Boulos, Tiffany Trump’s father-in-law, whom the president-elect tapped to serve as a senior White House adviser on Arab and Middle Eastern affairs.
Adam Boehler, Jared Kushner’s college roommate, whom the president-elect tapped to serve as the special U.S. envoy for hostage affairs.

And we can now add Guilfoyle, who was apparently close to Donald Trump Jr., to the mix.

The former Fox News personality, who does not appear to have any background in diplomacy, will require Senate confirmation. Watch this space.
