Mitch McConnell Says Trump Win Puts Americans In A 'Very Dangerous World

Source: huffpost

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) reportedly said that President-elect Donald Trump’s victory puts Americans in “a very, very dangerous world,” stressing that he plans to spend his final two years in the Senate pushing back against the growing Trump-fueled isolationism within the GOP.

The 82-year-old Kentucky Republican, who last month stepped down from his role as the longest-serving party leader in Senate history, has a complicated record with the incoming president. While McConnell has worked to significantly move the country to the right — much of it under the first Trump administration — he is no fan of Trump and his isolationist worldview that’s spreading throughout the Republican Party.

The Trump tax cuts will pay for themselves he said

Donald Trump Built a National Debt So Big (Even Before the Pandemic) That It’ll Weigh Down the Economy for Years The “King of Debt” promised to reduce the national debt — then his tax cuts made it surge. Republican tax cuts are the driving force behind the country’s worsening fiscal outlook.
If not for the Bush tax cuts and their extensions — as well as the Trump tax cuts — revenues would be on track to keep pace with spending indefinitely, Instead, these tax cuts have added $10 trillion to the debt since their enactment and are responsible for 57 percent of the increase in the debt ratio since 2001

you could have prevented this. Like if he'd been impeached you could have voted to remove him from office, and used your clout as leader to convince a few other senators to do the same thing.

You let djt slip on by two times and wiggle off the hook. Now we will be revisited by the hauntings of this nightmare once again.

You could have put the word out back then that the Tangerine Traitor should be impeached and many ReThugs would have followed your advice after you explained to them how dangerous djt was to American Democracy.

Too late,... now we are fucked.

THANKS FOR NOTHING !

Why is it, that every Republican voter knows Dems want to change your kids sexuality during recess but nobody knows all those statistics?

Yes, part of it is the right wing noise machine, but the real truth is that Dems have only been saying stuff that "polls well" vs pounding the shit out of these stats!

Besides, McTurtle is a decrepit old has been. Nobody in his party would listen to him, even if he really did mean what he said.

The only time that McTurtle actually follows through on anything is when he promotes reducing the Republican deficit by cutting Democratic programs. He gets a special kick out if it if the programs that get cut leave even more people without food and health care.

McTurtle's soul is as evil as TSF's.

will pay for themselves. Still trying to push that Laffer curve nonsense that claims as taxes are reduced revenue increases. I know that's idiotic and I suck at math. I remember Al Franken saying by that logic if we did away with taxes altogether revenue would go through the roof.

Quisling was the Norwegian former minister of defense who conspired with Hitler and sold his country to the Nazis. Ever since then his name has been synonymous with "traitor."

I think "McConnell" should be the American equivalent. A man who did more than anyone to dismantle American democracy. A McConnell should now be synonymous with anyone seeking to destroy what's left of our democracy for his own aggrandizement.

Just a thought.

I feel the same about my mom, who passed in mid-2021 and had worked tirelessly writing 4,000 postcards to voters from 2017 to 2020. We went to marches throughout the orange menace's first reign of terror with me pushing her in a wheelchair, starting on inauguration day when it POURED rain here in L.A. as if the sky had opened up and was crying for us all. January 6 was bad enough to have to watch her endure. This betrayal by our idiot countrymen (and women) would be a bridge too far.
