Mitch McConnell Says Trump Win Puts Americans In A 'Very Dangerous World
Source: huffpost
Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) reportedly said that President-elect Donald Trumps victory puts Americans in a very, very dangerous world, stressing that he plans to spend his final two years in the Senate pushing back against the growing Trump-fueled isolationism within the GOP.
The 82-year-old Kentucky Republican, who last month stepped down from his role as the longest-serving party leader in Senate history, has a complicated record with the incoming president. While McConnell has worked to significantly move the country to the right much of it under the first Trump administration he is no fan of Trump and his isolationist worldview thats spreading throughout the Republican Party.

Trump will be first president since WWII to lose jobs during tenure. The U.S. lost 140,000 jobs in December 2020 in the final jobs report of Trumps presidency. This means the nation has about 3 million fewer jobs than it did 4 years ago UNDER THE BLACK GUY --OBAMA, meaning Trump will be the first president to lose jobs over his term since employment data was collected in this way. NBC News Now correspondent Simone Boyce explains how it all unfolded.

The Trump tax cuts will pay for themselves he said
Donald Trump Built a National Debt So Big (Even Before the Pandemic) That Itll Weigh Down the Economy for Years The King of Debt promised to reduce the national debt then his tax cuts made it surge. Add in the pandemic, and he oversaw the third-biggest deficit increase of any president. https://www.propublica.org/article/national-debt-trump

Republican tax cuts are the driving force behind the countrys worsening fiscal outlook.
If not for the Bush tax cuts and their extensions as well as the Trump tax cuts revenues would be on track to keep pace with spending indefinitely, Instead, these tax cuts have added $10 trillion to the debt since their enactment and are responsible for 57 percent of the increase in the debt ratio since 2001

Stated on July 23, 2019 in a tweet: "Reagan took the deficit from $70 billion to $175 billion. Bush 41 took it to $300 billion. Clinton got it to zero. Bush 43 took it from zero to $1.2 trillion. Obama halved it to $600 billion. Trumps got it back to a trillion." https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2019/jul/29/tweets/republican-presidents-democrats-contribute-deficit/

(701 posts)you could have prevented this. Like if he'd been impeached you could have voted to remove him from office, and used your clout as leader to convince a few other senators to do the same thing.

(16,747 posts)You let djt slip on by two times and wiggle off the hook. Now we will be revisited by the hauntings of this nightmare once again.
You could have put the word out back then that the Tangerine Traitor should be impeached and many ReThugs would have followed your advice after you explained to them how dangerous djt was to American Democracy.
Too late,... now we are fucked.
THANKS FOR NOTHING !

Again, STFU and retire. You've done so much damage the nation you belong in the same despicable collection of nation destroyers as confederates.

Why is it, that every Republican voter knows Dems want to change your kids sexuality during recess but nobody knows all those statistics?
Yes, part of it is the right wing noise machine, but the real truth is that Dems have only been saying stuff that "polls well" vs pounding the shit out of these stats!

(24,547 posts)Besides, McTurtle is a decrepit old has been. Nobody in his party would listen to him, even if he really did mean what he said.
The only time that McTurtle actually follows through on anything is when he promotes reducing the Republican deficit by cutting Democratic programs. He gets a special kick out if it if the programs that get cut leave even more people without food and health care.
McTurtle's soul is as evil as TSF's.

(75 posts)will pay for themselves. Still trying to push that Laffer curve nonsense that claims as taxes are reduced revenue increases. I know that's idiotic and I suck at math. I remember Al Franken saying by that logic if we did away with taxes altogether revenue would go through the roof.

(8,743 posts)Quisling was the Norwegian former minister of defense who conspired with Hitler and sold his country to the Nazis. Ever since then his name has been synonymous with "traitor."
I think "McConnell" should be the American equivalent. A man who did more than anyone to dismantle American democracy. A McConnell should now be synonymous with anyone seeking to destroy what's left of our democracy for his own aggrandizement.
Just a thought.

She sure was right, wasn't she? RIP Libby. I'm glad you have joined the choir invisible and don't have to live through this constitutional tragedy.

(7 posts)I feel the same about my mom, who passed in mid-2021 and had worked tirelessly writing 4,000 postcards to voters from 2017 to 2020. We went to marches throughout the orange menace's first reign of terror with me pushing her in a wheelchair, starting on inauguration day when it POURED rain here in L.A. as if the sky had opened up and was crying for us all. January 6 was bad enough to have to watch her endure. This betrayal by our idiot countrymen (and women) would be a bridge too far.
