The passenger plane was landing when it went off the runway in Muan. The flight came from Bangkok and was carrying 181 people.

A passenger plane carrying 181 people crashed while landing in an airport in southwestern South Korea on Sunday, killing at least 47 people, officials said. The plane, operated by South Korea’s Jeju Air, was landing in Muan International Airport when it veered off the runway, local fire department officials said.

You're moving that fast and hit a large-ish bird and the structure takes damage.

If it hits in the wrong place, bad things can happen. A bird going into a turbine ... Not good for avian or machine.
