Trump officials haven't decided on post-inauguration Chicago raids, Homan says

Source: Washington Post

“Border czar” Tom Homan said the incoming administration is reconsidering plans for an immigration enforcement blitz in Chicago next week after preliminary details leaked.

President-elect Donald Trump’s handpicked “border czar” Tom Homan said in an interview Saturday that the incoming administration is reconsidering whether to launch immigration raids in Chicago next week after preliminary details leaked out in news reports.

Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, told The Washington Post that the new administration “hasn’t made a decision yet.”

“We’re looking at this leak and will make a decision based on this leak,” Homan said. “It’s unfortunate because anyone leaking law enforcement operations puts officers at greater risk.”

Spent decades in and around NOLA. Love the Pink Crustaceans. Spring of 1989. My wife and I grappling with our very first crawfish boil on the West Bank of New Orleans. Took us years but Finally mastered it. Came to love it. Les a le bon ton roule (The spellings kinda close.). Let the good times roll.

I don't believe for a moment their concerns are with LEOs at risk. They undoubtedly got a lot of negative flack for this whack job and that is what caused the reassessment.

They've been looking to do something for months now. Are we truly to believe they're going to put the kibosh to their plans out of fear a few LEOs will be hurt? No, I suspect there's been more than a little pressure put on them by politicians and monied-interests from both parties, and they've decided on a little more cautious approach.
