Gloria Allred questions Trump's reasons for ending friendship with Epstein

Source: The Hill

12/27/25 1:33 PM ET

Attorney Gloria Allred on Friday speculated on why the friendship between President Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein ended, and what the files released by the Justice Department (DOJ) could reveal about the falling out. “Well, I‘ve heard different explanations from the White House about why he dropped him,” Allred told CNN’s Phil Mattingly.

“One explanation was that he was a pervert, Jeffrey Epstein. But if he was a pervert, in the view of the president — not the president at the time — then why did he believe he was a pervert?” “And was he — did he investigate?” Allred continued. “Did he look into what actions or misconduct he knew that perhaps Jeffrey Epstein was inflicting on underage girls, children, or adults?”

The attorney said she also heard that Epstein bid against Trump in purchasing a property in Palm Beach, Fla., which stirred “bad will” between them. “So we don‘t know whether, what‘s the truth,” she said. “We‘ll just have to wait and see why he and Jeffrey Epstein were no longer friends. We‘ll look at the, all the files when they‘re released to see when the last communications may have existed between the two of them.”

The attorney noted that her focus was more on allegations of sex trafficking underaged girls, including “who assisted, who enabled, who supported Jeffrey Epstein in this effort.” “We‘re going to have to also follow the money, which may be the most important trail that we have to journey upon in order to find out how this, I think, worldwide sex trafficking method and project was conducted,” she concluded.

These guys never broke off. We know how Trump is. He has eruptions. He can't control himself. He is bipolar. He can flip 180 degrees in a matter of minutes. How many times have we seen him brutally insult people like "Little Marco" or Mamdani.

Perhaps their relationship was stormy, but more than anything else, by 2010, Trump was becoming active on the political scene and Epstein was already convicted in Florida. Epstein got a sweetheart deal, and Trump figured he had better keep his distance because that sweetheart treatment might no last.

But most importantly, if Trump has nothing to hide, he would be selling out everyone in Epstein's trap.

When Cankles was elected, Steve Bannon told Epstein that Epstein was the only person he feared could scupper the campaign.

It’s an opening on the side of a boat so that water can’t flood the craft.

I'm talking about the women who could have embarrassed Chump by revealing how he had attacked or raped them, or in some cases groped or grabbed them. At one point Bannon told Michael Wolff that it was over 100 women, but not all of them were willing to sign NDAs.

E. Jean Carroll was famously one of those who refused, and she was able to take him to court.

These women who signed NDAs in 2015 and 2016 were not underage, and as far as I know, none of them had anything to do with Jeffrey Epstein. The situation with Epstein was very different ... maybe the documents will reveal whether they were trafficking together (by hiring wanna-be models etc.) or whatever shows up in the financial transactions.

Trump is transactional, and money means everything to him. Donnie and Jeff probably had a falling out over money. What that entailed is anybody's guess, but the way these guys played money games it could have been anything.

As stated in the OP, the two bid against each other on a mansion in PB. The way I heard it was Epstein showed Trump a house he wanted. Trump quickly made an offer and completed the purchase. I guess he caught Epstein sleeping. The story goes that Epstein soured on Trump after that, not the other way around. Trump flipped the property to a Russian for big bucks. So yeah, money....

In the version I heard, it was Epstein that broke off the relationship because he knew Trump was bad news. I suspect something on the order of "this guy's lips are so loose he could give the whole thing away."

I don't think Chump knows how to be a "friend" to anyone, and we already know how little loyalty he has. His only joy in life is getting revenge. Who wants a friend like that? I'm sure Epstein figured it out ... he might have been crazy but he wasn't stupid.

It's going to come out sooner or later ... Jeffrey's death was no suicide and it wasn't accidental. He was going to name names.
