The threat of a Jim Jordan Speakership is prompting some to ask whether House Democrats should have spared Kevin McCarthy.

2. Except that "Dems" did not oust him-- extremist R's did. Dems simply declined to "save" him.

I still hold out hope that a half dozen-- or more-- less insane R's from Biden-winning districts will oppose Jordan, but if not, I don't see him surviving long as Speaker, given their total chaotic caucus.

In order to get the votes of “moderates”, especially those in districts that Biden won, “Gym” must have made deals with them in order to get their vote. These deals probably include aid to Israel and Ukraine which the Senate will send to the House later this week.
