Thursday Night Birthday Cocktail Thread. No Friday Night Drinking Thread tomorrow.

Enjoying a Mamie Taylor tonight. Canadian whiskey, lime juice, and ginger beer over ice in a highball glass. Yummy!

Tomorrow night, birthday dinner on the town. At a restaurant renowned for their bourbon cocktails.

Had a successful, highly gratifying job interview this week. I think it will lead to good things.

I love you all…

My first foray into Canadian whiskey. The bottle is nearly empty. My next selection will be Canadian Club.

...something else I might enjoy. Is there a story behind the name? There must be.

I so hope this interview leads to a great job. You deserve one, for sure. Fingers crossed.

And many happy returns!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (that's 56 exclamation points for 56 years, if that is the right number)

I wonder if that’s a world record for exclamation points.

I’ll look up to see how the Mamie Taylor got its name.

After I look for Between The Sheets and the Screaming Multiple Orgasm.

…as their age, along with assorted smilies/emojis representing their favorite things, and timed to arrive at the moment of their births. One of a few family traditions. Fortunately for them and for me, they were both morning babies, so no middle of the night texting - 9:34 and 11:08 Eastern Standard Time.

Seeing as you and I are members of the health care family of professions, I decided I’d include you in the family birthday exclamation point tradition.

For the record, I was a 9:17am baby. And October 17th, 1968 was a Thursday.

Both were born at Bethesda Naval hospital, courtesy of my husband's Air Force career.

As you would know from your time in the Army, health care is free to active duty military and their immediate family members. The only thing you pay for is the food if you are hospitalized, and back in 1990 and '92, that was $8 a day, so both pregnancies basically cost nothing even tho I had amniocentesis with the first one (I was 38), chorionic villi sampling with the second, (I was 41) and C-sections both times.

Military health care may not be perfect, but it's pretty damn good.

I’ll drive to the restaurant, have dinner at the restaurant, and drive home from the restaurant.

At my age, that’s a wild night out.

Ever since Photobucket started charging its users, I haven’t had an image host to post pics from.

But I can furnish a full report on the dishes served, and my wine selection. The restaurant has a superb cellar of top-end burgundies.
