If you could move to and live in one of these cities, which would you choose and why? I've been to Edinburgh but not Cork, and I'd love to hear from those who have traveled to or lived in one or both as well as those just dreaming, like me.

(11,784 posts)We stayed near the castle and wandered little winding streets overlooking the bay reminded me of San Francisco. And just as windy!

(1,258 posts)Each are very lovely. But Id pick Cork. Much further south and better weather, relatively speaking.

(95 posts)Cobh is utterly charming! It is obviously a much smaller city than Edinburgh, as well as being in a completely different country. 🤔

(2,434 posts)I'm going to visit Ireland next year and will definitely be checking out Cork and Cobh. I do love Edinburgh but housing is so expensive. We also went to Dunbar, down the coast, and that was gorgeous and a bit more affordable.

(17,740 posts)... so, much as I love the place, I'd probably want to avoid it. Haven't heard anything about Cork.
