Our chorus group in H.S. learned selections from My Fair Lady for a concert. And later, the school performed The Music Man. I was an extra in the crowd scenes At home, my Mom and Dad had the sounds tracks for both, so we all knew the songs. What happy memories!

We sang a lot of songs for school and inter-schools music festivals or concerts, but none from My Fair Lady

until the teacher/staff decided on what we'd do for the concert, then we'd sing those over and over to rehearse.

The chorus and advanced chorus did the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah for a Christmas concert. At home, it is the first, sometimes the only, song I listen to at Christmas time.

Last night I was watching the inter-high schools choir competition on local TV and laughing at how far we have come in the Caribbean. We even sing our own songs these days.😀

I wanna talk to you
I want to shampoo you
I want to renew you...

The lyrics seemed silly to me when I was young. Now that I'm old and experienced, I find the words endearing.
