1. Well, I haven't recovered from THE GAME last night (GA Dawgs v GA Tech: 44:42, 8 overtimes!)

My own "dawg" doesn't know how sleep-deprived I am after that game and still wants me up for our long pre-dawn walk around the lake at the dog park, so I am groggily typing this while I decide how many layers I am going to need to wear. (Yesterday was 19F when we walked).

But, yeah, I'm looking forward to today's THE GAME (Texas vs Texas A&M) and have definite thoughts on who I HOPE wins.

BTW, the image you embedded doesn't show up for me. What was it?

Couldn’t get it to work a couple times.

It’s Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy saying

MICHIGAN
YOU SUCK

I missed the whole Georgia game completely. Wow. What a game. ESPN showed UGA fans leaving when it was Ga. Tech 27-13. I’m sure I figured Georgia would roll. Ga. Tech’s had a good team all year. I shoulda known.

Then I'll be zeroed in on Alabama-Auburn, then it will be the Texas-Texas A&M game.

4. Always watch the Iron Bowl but THE GAME rules this house

Son of Ohio. My family used to leave the house. It was my one day to rage. We are actually watching the game as a family today. Our house is actually Buckeye colors - that is a coincidence but my wife knew it would be a selling point in me. Chili will be cooking in the kitchen right behind me. That was the other selling point to this house - one big kitchen-den-fireplace room. The tree will be up just to my left starting at about 9. When I walked in this room the first time 5 years ago I thought “Yep. This is it”.

6. Around here The Game is referred to as Ohio State v. That Team Up North

Cool tradition on OSU campus: The night after the game before The Game, some fraternity goes around campus and puts Xs in red tape over every single M. It is a huge sprawling campus so you can imagine how many Ms there are on campus in signs, building names, etc. During the week leading to The Game, Michigan is written as Xichigan instead in campus communications. The same group removes all the red tape Xs after The Game although sometimes they miss a few so it’s not uncommon to still see a ragged red tape X still up somewhere months later. But I’ve never seen an M that didn’t have a red tape X at the start of Xichigan week.

I didn’t know about the X. That’s funny.

I’ve never been to a game at the Shoe. My Mom has as a Marshall fan and she said it was one of the greatest football experiences she’s had. They’ve traveled a lot with The Herd.

That big Michigan lineman, ambling across the field at the end, crying like a small lost child. Tears of joy...
