(39,220 posts)I get the cauliflower crust veg pizza at Costco and add more stuff, usually sliced summer sausage. I also add Pineapple bits that compliment the saltiness. A real taste treat sensation!!!
debm55
(39,220 posts)I'm veg, so no Canadian bacon but it's good with spicy tomato sauce, green peppers, & mozz cheese. It's very wet though, so if you're cooking your own pizza, I'd get the tidbits, not the rings, & let them drain while you roll out the crust & do the rest.

(1,159 posts)Pineapple was a discovery. A bit of pineapple could be combined with a lot of things in a surprising way on a pizza.
Pineapple and ham was a good place to start. My favorite taste experience ended up as pineapple, ham, pepperoni and a little bit of anchovy. Not something I would have conceived of out of the blue but plenty of time to experiment led me to it.

Pineapple struck me as wrong on pizza when first encountered over 50 years ago. Admit never even tried a pineapple with ham or Canadian bacon or pineapple alone or with something else combo.

(22,859 posts)Now I echo the poster above who mentioned Margarita pizza. It is now my favorite. Fresh tomatoes, lots of cheese and fresh basil; especially good on an excellent crust.
My favorite local (Staunch Democratic Owners) Italian place makes excellent pizza and do a great crust. Their Margarita pizza is a winner. (also it is BOB, so when we have a crowd there is a lot of wine to sample)
Pineapple belongs in desserts, with cottage cheese, or just to eat by itself. Not on pizza.

(10,445 posts)Cashew Pizza. It's a thing where I used to live. Every pizza parlor has it, whether it's a mom and pop or a brand name.
Goes best on plain cheese pizza. Get yourself a bag of salted cashews. Take them to your favorite pizza place. Ask them to put them on your pizza.
*Pro tip - cashews must go under the cheese, or they will burn.
Yum!!!

(8,825 posts)When I first heard of people eating pineapple on pizza, I dismissed it as "two great tastes that might not taste so great together." Then, one time when I was eating pizza, I put some pineapple slices that I had on the pizza and ate it. My previous opinion of them maybe not tasting so great together was dispelled at that moment. I now love them together.
