I just looked it up and the song made £8 million in the first year, far exceeding the initial hopes of £1.5 million.

Honestly, I preferred that song. I always thought "Do They Know It's Christmas?" was kind of odd, considering most people in Africa aren't Christian. It's the thought that counts though ...
