Is anyone planning to see "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever"?

I don't know, man; I've never heard of a Major Motion Picture that crossed over from community theater like this one did.

If only for how they deal with Beth's first line in the show:

"The Herdmans were the worst kids in the whole history of the world. They lied and stole and smoked cigars, even the girls, and talked dirty and cussed their teachers and took the name of the Lord in vain and set fire to Fred Shoemaker's old broken-down tool house."

In other words it's the story of the Trump family. But how in this era of rating pictures R if there's any smoking in them at all are they going to deal with five cigar-smoking children?

Dunno.

Many of the reviews I've read are all mushy with religion aspects, so I'm a bit reluctant to wander into that mess...

Thanks for your take on this. It doesn't sound funny to me, does it to you?

I'm always looking for laughs at the movies.

It was really good -- lots of laughs.

Saw Wicked last week as well and enjoyed it immensely as well, especially the costuming and special effects.

I've been looking for something to see this week...just can''t decide. LOL

We are on the same wavelength, Beagles!

I've been between Wicked, the Christmas Pagent one and Moana 2. I love that Moana 2 is supposed to be culturally factual.

Decisions, decisions...

I think that the real story is that you should not make assumptions about people without any research. Everyone hated the kids in that one family but you do find out why they are the way they are. Becoming involved with the pageant became critical to their personal growth as well as the growth of the church congregation.

The play is "meh" at best. Bet the movie gets added to rest of the christmas movies people will add to their holiday must see list.
