Enjoying a Brandy Sour tonight.

Brandy (natch), orange juice, simple syrup, and a cherry. Yummy!

I found the perfect glass for sours. I have a set of vintage wine glasses suitable for red wines. But I already have a set of giant fishbowl wine glasses that I use.

So I have promoted the vintage glasses to cocktail use. Every form of glassware is welcome at the bar at Chez Robért.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend…

I regret that I can only use rye as a mixer. Neat, it is much too coarse for my tastes. It does make for a spectacular New York Sour. But I don’t drink those often enough to keep a bottle in the house.

Any other cocktail calling for rye, I substitute bourbon. Currently, I have three bottles of that in my backbar.

That & the whisky version. Was her go-to for a pre-dinner cocktail when we'd dine out.
Neither she nor my dad drank much, so it would be the one cocktail.
Either that or a Brandy Alexander at dessert time.
