If you've tried to use the last few days, you probably have seen this.
If you use it, but not in the ladt few days, here's what happened:
Instead of going to their site, the screen came up as Unsafe - Phishing.
As I have zero personal information (I use it as a guest), and after reading other reports where nobody could grasp how that site is unsafe, I figured I'd hit "Ignore & Proceed"
I try to upload an image & instead of the image, I get, in little red letters, "Server Returned A 403 Error".
Been wonky since DebM's Christmas light question.
Reason I'm bringing this up is It's back up & working again!
So, if you had issues you can go back. If you hadn't experienced this, it doesn't appear you will now.

(70,303 posts)Now, that I use it, I can upload an image, select the link, come back to you, paste and post, in about 10 seconds.
It's really easy to use.
If you would like to learn to do it, PM me & I'll walk you through it.

(70,303 posts)Everything worked like normal.
question everything
(48,970 posts)Even if I change it to jpg on my computer, postimage still reads it as avif and all I get is the link, not the picture itself.

(39,004 posts)Simply renaming a file from avif to jpg is not going to change it. You have to open the avif image in your photo software and use "export" or "save as" to create an actual jpg file.

(48,970 posts)It worked. Kinda.
I had the photo in the preview and had an option of screenshot. Selected all and had to trim all the desktop background. Also it was about 4MB so I really shrank it but, came OK.

Thanks, again

(39,004 posts)A quick internet search says the mac Preview app can do it.
Unfortunately I also got a lot of scammy looking sites in that search...
Open the image with Preview.app then export it as a jpg. This will create a new jpg file that you can upload to postimage.
Any mac users here?

(70,303 posts)Not something I've ever encountered.
Did it work before when doing that?
I never even looked at the designation of my pics.

(70,303 posts)That's why I posted. It definitely wasn't working right the last few days.

(11,759 posts)Because it has been running really slow for me, all of my images take a really long time to load. I use Imgur mostly, I never had an issue with it.

(37,398 posts)on my Christmas lights posts. I felt embarrassed in that during the 20 years here I have never posted anything as I don't know how. Even a song. I wanted to say after reading the post I was Mistaken and wanted to say I was sorry. for thinking otherwise of me. I do have one that is constantly on my back in OP and mail. I thought you were stating that I messed up posts. But I was wrong and was that would do something like that. I am sorry . I have little knowledge of computers and should not have posted anything thing that I am not knowledgeable about.

(70,303 posts)Tge only reason I mentioned your post is because I found the problem when I went to post pics of our yard lights that I mentioned on your thread.
It wasn't about your post, just an easy frame of reference as to when I noticed the issue.
All is good.
