Unattended laundry, a question from a social media site.

So I’m at the laundry mat right now. I wanna ask all of you something. And be honest.

This lady came and dropped off over 12 different loads in the washer and dryer and left. People were waiting, including myself for the dryers. So when her clothes were done, I waited 40 more mins and took them out. There were no other dryers available.

Then when she came back, it was 30 mins after I took them out, and she flipped out on me. Am I in the wrong?

So she made a scene. When other people were having my back, she started saying he’s a creep for taking my clothes out that had underwear in her load.

Like how TF am I suppose to know what’s in there. Like it’s crazy how to entitled some people are. Like 7 woman had my back and she still wanted to play victim.

When he finally returned to the laundry room, his clothes were sitting on the table nicely folded. So that's the nice way to play it.

I got back once late & a nice person had loosely folded the towels & sheets but left my underwear & bras alone. I learned my lesson.
I would not fold a strangers undies

As far as I’m concerned, you would have been justified in throwing her clothes in the trash.

I’m glad other people spoke up on your behalf.

I'm sure whoever owns the business would support that.
They don't make any money when the machines are idle.

Where I live, they all have signs about leaving your laundry unattended, and the workers themselves will sometimes remove the clothes if the person takes forever to come back for them.

There's not a lot of laundromats where I live anymore, making the ones left very busy.

I see so much selfishness and self-entitlement these days, it's like an epidemic.

How did she put clothes in dryers when she first got there?

You’re saying she brought wet clothes and jumped the line?

I must be misunderstanding something because in my hood that wouldn’t fly…. As soon as she left , someone would of pulled her wet clothes out into a laundry wire basket and said, who was next? We would all be using her quarters/ time

I'll get an attendant if one is available, but if not and it's been awhile, I take the stuff out.

People need to stay nearby when other people are waiting for the washers and dryers.

I wouldn't wait 30 minutes either

I *would* try to nicely fold the clothes rather than dump them in a pile. Some people actually appreciated this and didn't mind that I took over the dryer.

what she did (leaving her laundry unattended) was unreasonable

what you did to remedy the situation was entirely reasonable
