Found a Horseshoe in my backyard.

A week ago tomorrow we had to have some digging done to bury some new drainage pipes for our basement sump pumps.

Well today on my way back from feeding the cat, who lives in our shed, I saw a mud covered horseshoe lying in the yard. The plumbing company must have dug it up and forgot to tell us.

It must have been from one of my grandfather's farm horses. The land that the house is on has been owned by our family since 1904. It's no longer a farm, but my grandfather used to farm it. He grew fruit, hay, and had cattle.

Hope it's a sign from Grandpa that my sister and I are in for some good luck. We could use some.

Unfortunately both he and my Mom's father passed away before I was born. It was nice to feel kind of a connection to him today, and at least I got to know my grandmother's.

I hope Good Luck for all of us here too!

It's as though your Grandfather reached out through time, to touch you, both physically and emotionally.
And he may well have. I do believe in signs. I've experienced more than a few in my day.

I love these kinds of connections to our past.

Here's mine: All four of my grandparents came from Ireland, and all of their children married fellow Irish Americans. I grew up in this wonderful country, and so even if we are only looking at Europeans, there's a lot of variety -- Irish, Danish, French, Italian, and so on. The first time I went to Ireland I finally understood how Irish my family was, because every single person I saw looked exactly like my brothers and sisters and cousins.

I you had a black cat cross your path, then immediately found a horseshoe, you would be on a roll of some sort.
