So I learned today there’s a movement to encourage people to spend less so they can focus on their community, their personal, finances, and what really matters in life. I’m going to start trying to abide by the No Buy Rules so I can get off the hamster wheel.

What Is The No-Buy Trend?
Taking part in the latest no spending challenge—known as No Buy 2025—means eliminating pretty much all non-essential purchases, including but not limited to new clothes, make up, furniture, eating out, ordering takeout and other things. A variety of creators sharing their hacks and rules for a successful year of no buying. (27,721 posts)I spend very little on non-essentials. Having been relatively poor at several times in my life, I find it reasonably easy to live frugally.
Perhaps the greatest non-essential is a car payment. If you need to take out a loan every time, you are spending far too much on cars.

(10,461 posts)A few things also:
1. Newsweek is a right center bias so don't be surprised if you receive some ridicule about the right wing source.
2. There are people here who have beefs with certain social media's and tiktok is definitely a presence that I have a beef with.
3. I generally end up trashing threads that instruct me what I can and can't do, especially when it pertains to MY paycheck.
Have a lovely day.
