He's in the kind of agony I had when I had one (some years ago).
Of course the typical thing to do is to force fluids and get it to pass.
Slight concern because he recently had his prostate removed and all his urinary tract is newly reconstructed.
Feeling pretty helpless to assist him in any way.. I hate this feeling.

(8,503 posts)He should be evaluated to make sure the stone is small enough for him to pass, ensure it doesn't require a trip to ER, and get pain meds if necessary.
And . It's so hard to watch our loved ones suffer.

(96 posts)Isn't that typically something for a Urologist? I'd call a nurse at the urologists office and see when they can get your guy in to get scoped. A reconstructed urinary tract is nothing to take chances on. The nurses usually have a way to make a space for things that could potentially be real important.

(23,166 posts)Those stones can be rough textured and could mess stuff up badly.
And for those who have never experienced the thrill of a kidney stone, I had a kidney stone and delivered a baby with no drugs
I would take the labor and delivery anytime over the stone.
