But especially he loved to run in the dim twilight of the summer midnights, listening to the subdued and sleepy murmurs of the forest, reading signs and sounds as a man may read a book, and seeking for the mysterious something that called -- called, waking or sleeping, at all times, for him to come.

(25,896 posts)I've been grounded with torn up knees since Nov. and finally get to see an Orthopedist in 3 days - yay! I so miss being out in nature every day, this is such a drag and your photos give me a glimpse of that serenity. Thank you!

(11,096 posts)I agree that in these times, just catching a fresh breeze or the expanse of the sky makes us realize that the natural universe is so much more than the prison of our days. We are part of this nature and no one can sever her bond with us.

(25,896 posts)Although, it's so muc better than it was, maybe just some good therapy. Although it was a bad PT who torn up my knees to begin with, so I'm hoping for surgery because I can't go thru the knee pain and instability. I've fallen too many times as it is. Hubs had surgery for torn miniscus (which I also have) and was walking around the grocery store a few hours later with no pain!! I know mine is more extensive because of the acl, but still hoping for that result.
