Egg prices and breakfast tacos

Checked my local grocery store and store brand large eggs are $5.68 a dozen. That is $1.36 more than two weeks ago. 18 eggs are now $8.51. That’s a hell to the nope.

Our favorite breakfast taco place is no longer selling breakfast tacos with eggs. You can get chorizo, barbacoa or smoked sausage.

Our McDonalds no longer sells breakfast after 10:30 am.

Several local restaurants are putting a surcharge on breakfast eggs.

I live North of San Antonio. How about in where you live?

was $5.98. A dozen brown, free-range organic ones that I bought were pricier at 6.49. The little independent grocery store I shop at sources their eggs from a couple of local farms. Lansing, Michigan.

I keep my family members stocked with free eggs. I ask for cartons.

Dh’s family asked us to give them a couple of hens. I won’t, because they’re my pets. Plus, they don’t protect their own flock from predators or avian flu, so big nope from me. I’m not going to let a couple of my girls go to meet their certain death.

I suspect that plenty of folks will be hitting up the feed stores for baby chicks this year. Some of the hatcheries have jacked their prices. I saw that one had posted no availability for 2025.

if we should get some chickens? His response

You have to be kidding me! I don’t think an old dachshund and chickens are a good match!

Yep, Oscar might be old but he still loves to chase doves, pigeons and squirrels.💕

I heard our Tractor Supply may not have any chicks, too.
