And he also was deaf. We learned that white-furred cats who are born with the same colored eyes (e.g., blue or yellow) are genetically deaf. If they have different colored eyes (e.g., blue and yellow), they can hear.

We had a purebred Persian with two gorgeous blue eyes. She could hear a pin drop on the other side of the house. She often alerted us to things going on outdoors. 🙂

Out of which grew a thorny vine that tightened around my foot. I woke up to see that I was stepping on my cat Amos! I rushed him to the vet to make sure he was ok and the vet said he was except that he was obviously deaf. He lived another 10 years after that.
