I'm hoping that the worst has passed, with the familiar, wrung-out feeling to follow.

Thanks!

Deep breathing can help ward it off. Follow along for a few minutes (what can it hurt? ) :

I have suffered on and off for years... All the prescription approaches have too many side effects for me, albeit gabapentin (for my chronic ankle pain, now addressing the fun, accompanying neuro rebound pain) may be helping a bit on the migraine prevention side--as some studies have shown.

But, Excedrine taken before nausea sets in, one of those weighted head wraps, darkness, a deep breathing session, and my pup beside me is the best thing I've found--even if it takes some time.

On the very rare occasions when I get a migraine, I always wonder "maybe I won't feel sick this time," and then it sets in.

I'll keep your advice in mind for next time. I have nothing but sympathy for people who endure migraines on the regular. Makes my biennial participation seem like a holiday.

My wife asked if I was going to take anything, and I said that all I can take is a nap.

My sister used to get them several times a month, really debilitating ones, and I've known other people similarly afflicted. I can't imagine enduring that.

I get them very seldom, but I kind of know their arc, and I think the worst passed while I was sleeping. Here's hoping!

Thanks!

In my entire life I've probably consumed less than 16 ounces of coffee. To go from zero to black coffee in one go would be quite a ride!

Maybe I'll just snort the grounds straight out of the grinder!

Seriously, though--thank you for the suggestion! DU is always a good place to find support and commiserate!

I believe the worst has passed, though I'll linger in that hangover feeling for a day or two.

I get them rarely, but my "tell" is a blind spot followed by the aura followed by the desire to scoop my eyes out with a melon baller.

I've been asleep since about 20 minutes after I posted, and I feel like the worst has passed, as long as I keep the lights low.

Thanks!
