Yeah, we ALL thought bose was the bomb until we hear REAL speakers. Ferrets are Cool Mar 4 #4

Wilson is the obvious answer, but for us mortals, SVS makes a great sounding speaker set that most can afford. Ferrets are Cool Mar 5 #7

I joined. Got the first CD. Didn't get more than that. Moved applegrove Mar 5 #6

It was a great deal.

I replaced all my albums with CD's.

I had 4 Bose 901 speakers.

They hung from the ceiling.

1 in each corner of the living room.

What a sound !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are literally hundreds of manufactures that sound better than Bose, but they put most of their $$ into advertising, so that is why they are a household name. Of course, if you are happy with yours, that is ALL that matters.
