My daughter invited me to the Spring Choir Concert

The students, 7th -12th did a wonderful job. There were several choral groups, and some of the smaller groups are competing at state level. Interesting selection of songs, some of which I'm pretty sure won't make it on the DEI brownshirts' Top 10.
There was also a hand bell choir, and trhey are also competing at state level. I haven't a hand bell performance before and it was magical.
I'm tired out, but really glad I go to go

The director did a fabulous job with the kids. I know how it makes you feel to watch them. I’m glad you got to go.

I still remember, years ago, at one of my boys’ choir concerts, in between vocal performances, a young boy of about 14 came out and sat at the piano and played a flawless “Fur Elise.”

Many years ago I learned/realized (a bit of each) that high school concerts and performances of any and all kind were worth seeing.

Hmmm. Posting this I just realized I haven't been to a local high school thing in a very long time. I need to rectify that.

They were in music groups through college, mainly for orchestra. Our daughter is still involved with choir and both she and my hubby are in a handbell choir. My son plays around with his violin, but just for his own pleasure. I'm musical, but mainly singing (I'm in choir and another choral group). I did handbells for years. I was ok adding in chimes but some of the more advanced stuff stressed me out. I love to hear the bells play though!

If you ever get a chance to see the group "Raleigh Ringers", definitely go! They are awesome, fun showmanship, and they play all types of music. They're based out of Raleigh NC, but they do concerts around the country throughout the year.

Here's a couple of clips of them doing their thing:

Glad you had a good evening at the concert!

...the pieces and arrangements we can play - not enough hands.

I love Christmas Eve Sarajevo, any time of the year.

I'm a member of a very small hand bell choir at an equally small Unitarian Universalist congregation in one of the far northwest suburbs of the greater Chicago area. I've been doing this since 2012. I'm the one on the far left.
