the smarter the animal, the more need there is of play. I once heard only intelligent creatures "play".. Don't know if that's true, and it was a long time ago when I read that, but it made sense to me then and still makes sense to me today. Intelligent creatures have an active imagination, and a need to express it. We really have no idea how intelligent whales, dolphins, and porpoises are. I think we short change them by a lot. To me, they show they're more intelligent than many of their 2-footed cousins!
