A plebian review of a luxe vehicle brand - Jaguar -

So, in my 1,200 career as a customer of (ride sharing?) "designated drivers" to "happy hours", amazing the variety of vehicle brands, - things I'd never have access to - luxe stuff surprisingly often, like are they driving fancy brands by ridesharing to make their luxe payments? Talking Lincolns, Jeeps, monster pickups, yes 2 teslas, more.

Anyway, so, have been surprised at the variety of balleyhooed brands - but tonight was my first Jaguar. And surprised at the rough ride, cramped quarters, just reporting.

Their motto from when they were still produced in the UK was "grace, pace and space.' I've had a few Jags, before all the ownership changes, and that was the case.

Quality may have went down since Ford acquired the brand in the '90s. Ford sold it I believe in 2008 to Tata of India which latersold and it merged with Land Rover...all that change of ownership often leads to quality standards lessening.

Too bad, a once proud brand in decline.

Enzo Ferrari himself called the '60s era E-Type the most beautiful car in the world. One of them is in the permanent colledtion of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The only car museum I ever saw was in LA.
Not sure if they have the car you mentioned,
but there are some truly beautiful cars displayed.
Around 1970, I saw a Maserati in my neighborhood
and it was stunning.

fully intend that you know what's going on beneath the wheels!

Rolling couches (basically all American cars) hide what's going on.

My parents owned 3 Jaguars a '57 a '62 and a '67. All saloons with the Le Mans
winning inline 6, bored out to 4.2L in the '67...

The one American car I owned, I bought for $1, and at the end of a month
I was ready to roll it off a cliff...

Nowadays most US roads are in poor repair. If the roads were smooth
you wouldn't be complaining about the ride!

Years ago, I joked that I could feel it when I ran over a gum wrapper in my
4WD '91 Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo...what a fun car! One of these came in
2nd on a 3mile hill climb...2nd only to a Viper.

Ymmv!
