(19,941 posts)This second one seemed to go even smoother than the first one, and I was "more awake" for this one. I was chatting with the doc while he was doing the surgery, but I couldn't see him, I could only hear him.
You'll actually enjoy the experience!

(11,542 posts)I did, doctor said that he likes to put people under more for the first one because of the fear people have about eyes getting poked…nerves are down on second so not so much sleepy time. I asked, he answered…gotta think it’s true.

(35,466 posts)I told the doc I didn’t remember any of the first one. He said I slept thru it.
Alls good now, just have to put a bunch of drops in now three times a day.

(63 posts)😂OMG, I have to laugh because my husband does the same thing. While I was having a c-section (awake) he, standing near me and the anesthesiologist asked my doc to name the Seven Dwarfs!! Just what I needed. Someone holding a scalpel and cracking up. That was just one incident!

(5,048 posts)I had my annual checkup with my ophthalmologist yesterday and reminded him that I had asked that we do my cataract surgeries earlier than I really needed them done because of my tremors, which were not going to get better ( you have to hold your head perfectly still during the operation), and he agreed it was a good idea.
In fact, he said, people in general ought to get the surgery done as soon as they have any symptoms at all (like trouble driving with oncoming headlights), or as soon as their doctor tells them they have cataracts.

(5,048 posts)but I was glad to get mine done early. I knew I'd have to have the surgery eventually, and I wanted to get it over with before my various health conditions--like tremors--got worse.
