... and I did give it a chance. I watched way more than was comfortable. I watched the opening premise, then skipped to the testing. I did not make it to the end.
I don't know how the community will receive this, but if anyone has an impulse to refer to me as a 'snowflake', here's a preemptive F-U. Everyone else is cool.
Thank you.

I guarantee: NRA, MAGA, GOP, Breitbart etc did not endorse this. It's an art project.
You don't like it. That's a legitimate reaction, I like statements that challenge and that is legit, too.

(811 posts)... I merely posted my reaction, which is legitimate. If you want to call this 'art', that is up to you ... you're welcome to do that.
I am 80 years old and a lifelong professional musician.
I didn't expect or appreciate a lecture.
So please take note of my last paragraph.

(64,813 posts)... to anyone who might disagree with you about something you really didn't really object about. I didn't lecture you, I was trying to point out that nobody in DU would ever call you a snowflake or give you a pre-emptive fuck you on DU. My effort was to disabuse you of the mindset that anyone here would belittle you in the way you assume we would.
For your edification, I refer you to the "alert" button.
"No personal attacks or flaming
Why we have this rule: Civility begets quality discussions. Democratic Underground members are highly passionate about politics which means discussions can get heated -- but they don't need to get nasty. There's no reason why a community of intelligent adults who agree on a majority of political issues can't have a conversation without insulting each other or resorting to other anti-social behaviors.
The Rule:
Do not personally attack, insult, flame, threaten, bully, harass, stalk, negatively call-out, ascribe ugly ulterior motives to, or make baseless claims about any member of this community. Do not post in a manner that is hostile, abusive, or aggressive toward any member of this community."
Not accusing you of anything. But you might reconsider a "FU" reaction from something you honestly believe. We disagree a lot here. I agree with the artist's statement on "American" attitudes to weapons. We largely as a nation have made firearms an everyday fashion accessory, taken from defense to first response. You disagree. Welcome to DU!

I have been respectful, and I did not direct a personal attack to any specific individual. If you'd like to report me, have at it. I choose not to engage any further.
Thank you.
