There are 3 novels I never could finish. Every so often I try again. They're "Don Quixote," "Mobi Dick" and "Dune." I had hopes this adaptation might get me over the block.

The new "Dune" is just crap. Couldn't stand it.
Have to admit though and you don't have to agree, I can't stand Chalomet in general. Casting that little dude as Paul was laughable

Once he hooked up with a kardashian I was done with him. He’s now a little squirt to me.

I liked it. I loved the book; read it multiple times. I actually like the expanded version of the 80's movie, but not as much as the new one.

Freman prophecies, the Water of Life, intelligent worms, ... meh.

Never read the books. I'm sure they are great.

...which is in my Who are all these people and why should I care? bin.

I just don't get Dune. I've read it three times in my life trying to figure it out, each time upon meeting someone who was an enthusiastic fan of it.

It's not likely I'll read it again. I'd rather re-read a dozen bad Star Trek novelizations. And I have.

Needless to say, I've avoided the movies. The trailers alone were misery.

I just posted the first trailer that came up in my search.

Artificial Intelligence is only increasing the percentage of crap on the internet.

Sturgeon's Law that "90% of everything is crap" will have to be revised.

I've tried 3 maybe 4 times to read Dune, and give up 1/2 to 2/3 though. I never made it near the end. I read one other Frank Herbert novel White Plague, it was riveting.
