The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsPlease -- can anyone help me solve a mystery? In 2015 I joined FB to vote for a friend's
contest photo of a butterfly (she finished in top 10). It was the only time I ever got on FB. Over the years, I've tried to get on again, but always get the following message:
"It looks like you were misusing this feature by going too fast. You've been temporarily blocked from using it. If you think this doesn't go against our Community Standards let us know." (Let us know is a blue-colored link.)
But to let FB know, I have to log in. But can't because I've been "temporarily" blocked for ten years, now.
Have tried to change the password or to start a new account, but nothing works. Have no idea how I did anything "too fast" or what standards I could've possibly broken by voting for a photograph.

(11,017 posts)It arbitrarily decided I need to create a new password, but it won't let me log in to do it. I was, however, able to create a new account.
Fwiw, facebook seems to be nearly dead in my part of the world... the censorship became so pervasive that my feed was useless – I and my friends never saw one another's posts unless we deliberately went to their pages, and every third post in my feed was an ad.
