Guy's Grocery Games Question

Does anyone else watch Guy's Grocery Games? If anyone does have you ever wondered why they carry pet food? Flavortown is not a supermarket used by the general public, and I am sure the competing chefs aren't going to use it in their dishes. Although Brian Malarkly did tease once he was going to use canned cat food in one of his.

I know they do donate expiring food to food kitchens, so maybe they just directly donate to animal shelters?

He did great. I hope he was able to get the surgery he needed.

It always amazes me what these chefs can do with such an odd assortment of ingredients.
