(8,975 posts)We promise, Deb, to never serve you the Lima bean delish dish should you ever come to our houses for dinner. Heck, after Lois and Polly polished them off none would be left for you. Also love Butter

(4,044 posts)I like peas just fine now, esp. whole, fresh sugar snap pea and snow pea which I use in stir fry ALL the time. I use frozen peas in Spanish rice when I make it, and have been known to throw some in soups but I still wouldn't eat like a bowl or side of just peas, cause they're boring.
Lima beans? Still not a fan

(27,355 posts)I was such a picky eater as a kid. Maybe a little better as a tween, early teen. Finally changed around 15 hrs old.
I liked corn, carrots; that might be it.
Maaaybe onions in certain things.

(114,720 posts)and other beans are fine. Other veggies are fine (as long as they aren't overcooked and slimy). But LIMA BEANS. No way!!! I detest them. The smell, the texture, the horrible feel in the mouth. Umm, no. I'm with you debm55.

(11,928 posts)There was probably no way my father would have eaten them.
As far as what I hated as a kid, beets and canned sweet potatoes would probably top that list.

(5,545 posts)But any food waste at all was extremely frowned upon in my Mother's family. Finally she just started making lima beans with tomatoes, onions, and peppers, and spices. That was much better, but it seems like when she got us to eat that, we went back to pinto beans.
