that I'm not using and don't know what to do with. So it just sits there for years because I'm too lazy to sort the stuff out and give it away or throw it away or whatever.

Too big to toss. Maybe I'll need it some time in the future? -- isn't that how we get in this predicament.

I live in a townhouse/condo and I have a tandem parking space in a covered carport. I do have an outdoor closed in front of the parking space. In their I have a large ice cooler that I haven't used in years but for some reason I always think I'm going to need it when I think of throwing it out so I guess it stays there.

You have to fill them with kitty litter to soak up any paint and then leave them open beside your trash cans for the garbage service to take them away. But they are so old that they are rusted shut. So, they sit.

Also a pop-up tent that is too complex for me to pop-up. It is destined for garbage day.

I quit using it in 1988. (Bought an Apex stand.)
I've also got a Marshall amp, but my main amp is a Boogie & since I don't perform anymore I don't need a second amp.
Not sure why I haven't gotten rid of them.

I still have all my keyboard gear & I only use one for recording. But, I haven't shed those either.
I actually play most of my 15 guitars regularly & they also serve as wall art in the rec room.
