Twitter/Malkin campaign claiming Obamacare cancelled health plans

The heart of the issue: Obama and Pelosi had made statements that existing plans would be unaffected. Some peoples' plans are now being discontinued.

Since it's Malkin, I assume it's pretty close to an outright lie. How though? Maybe the law was changed after the statements were made? Maybe nobody's plan is actually being cancelled? Maybe the plans ARE being cancelled, but by the choice of the insurers (who then blame Obamacare)? I really haven't followed ACA issues much since the bill's passage.

1. The claim that existing plans would be unaffected was never going to be 100% true,

as the law did force changes in some (non-grandfathered) already existing plans.

More information is needed as to specific cases of plans being changes/cancelled.

4. Probably required coverages for pregnancy, etc.

Previously, individual plans could cover major medical, but not things like pregnancy or gynecological preventive healthcare, IIRC.

But there is at least one insurer, Aetna I think, that is leaving New York. Some businesses have chosen to go the route of vouchers so that employees can choose which company they want. Other than those two, I've not heard of the law actually affecting anyone else's insurance. Unless you include changes the insurers are making to their own plans .
